I live and play at night 

I eat slugs and pollinate plants

When I am young I am called a glow worm, and yes we glow too

I only live for 5 to 30 days as an adult, so I have to make the most of my time as an adult

Sara Lewis is a Professor of Biology at Tufts University, where she and her students have researched the luminous lives of fireflies for nearly three decades. Author of numerous scientific articles, Lewis’ work has been featured in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, BBCUSA Today, and Undark magazine. Currently, she works on global firefly conservation as co-chair of the IUCN Firefly Specialist Group.
