Unsung Pollinators of the U.S.
Conservation begins with you!
Where do I live?
My current range: is in the midwestern and eastern United States, as well as Ontario, Canada. I can be found in just 0.1% of my historical range. [12]
The green area on the map shows you where l live now.
The yellow area is where I used to be found.
Check out this map from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to see where I am likely to be found! For more information go to: https://www.fws.gov/midwest/endangered/insects/rpbb/rpbbmap.html [8]
I am what is called a habitat generalist - I can be found in many habitats: grasslands, woodlands, shrublands, even suburban or urban gardens and parks that have food and nesting sites available near each other. I like lots of different flowers like: wild roses, goldenrod, milkweed, clover and swamp thistle. [11]
Thinking question:
What do you think is an advantage to liking lots of different kinds of food?
Go to: https://www.fws.gov/midwest/endangered/insects/rpbb/plants.html to learn about more flowers I like. [9]
